A Fall Full of Fun
It is hard not to get excited about all of the great events we have coming in 2007, but it would not do justice to the remaining 2006 schedule. After a very successful inaugural kickoff of the national tour of the Duck n' Dodge Dodgeball tournament, we turn our undivided attention back to the kids.
We eagerly anticipate the Valero Go!Kids Challenge Subway Victory Lap Celebration at the Alamodome on Sunday, October 29. If you’re having a bad day or week, come see the bright smiles of the K-5th graders who have completed eight weeks of routine exercise. It’s another step toward a healthy community. Next, many young soccer players have a chance to watch their idols in action -- the female players from the Big 12. Thanks to the Big 12 for honoring us as the host city for their championship for 10 years. How time flies when you’re having fun!
And don’t forget to get your tickets now for the UIL 5A Div. I and II Football Championships on December 23 at the Alamodome. We want these games in San Antonio forever! More details coming on the River Rally for the four high schools, bands, cheerleaders and fans.
We could not do any of this without you! Thanks for your support and please remember the Sports Foundation and our youth programs as you make your year-end donation decisions. Click here to join our team now.

Duck 'N Dodge A Success
The San Antonio Sports Foundation’s first Duck 'N Dodge Charity Dodgeball Tournament was a hit! The San Antonio Sports Foundation thanks all 90 teams who registered and their fans for turning out last Saturday to make it such a fun event. The proceeds will support the nonprofit Sports Foundation’s sports and fitness programs that reach more than 160,000 children annually in San Antonio. We especially want to thank our sponsors Bud Light, 99.5 KISS and Time Warner Cable for their generosity.
In the end, it was Time Warner’s Balls in Flight team that took home championship honors including a gold dodgeball trophy and “beer for a year” for each team member along with 99.5 KISS Fall Fest concert tickets. Lackland Air Force Base's ISS team came in second. The tournament also featured a “Last Man/ Woman Standing” contest with Jacob Amesquita of the Brew Crew taking home 99.5 KISS Gold Circle Fall Fest tickets.
A sincere thanks, also, to our always-fantastic Sports Foundation volunteers! Click Here for photo galleries from the tournament.
