Marathoner Liza Hunter-Galvan has made her native New Zealand's Olympic team -- again!*  Now, you can help make new memories for her family.

In 2007, a terrible car accident injured Liza, her husband and their four children.  Her oldest daughter, Amber,  received a serious head injury that erased any memory of her mother's 2004 Olympic run in Athens.  While caring for Amber and nursing her own injuries, Liza continued to train and eventually had one of the most successful years in her racing history! A middle school teacher, Liza has put her teaching career temporarily on hold in order to focus on achieving the best performance she can in Beijing.

UPDATE:  We’re so proud of Liza!  She had a stellar run at 2:34:51 and finished 35th of 82 in the Marathon.  Best of all, Amber was there to see her!  You can still help ease the family’s financial burden.  Memory-making donations are being accepted in Liza's name via the nonprofit San Antonio Sports Foundation’s secure website.
