GAME #2 (Canada, 90 v. Puerto Rico, 73)
NAME: Greg Francis
POSITION: Head Coach, Canada
QUOTE: “We’ve been talking about this game for a long time, and we knew it was gonna be a big one. Our objective was just to set the temple for the tournament, as well as remembering that Puerto Rico’s a tough team. For us it was a big win and for these guys to step and play hard and really finish the job was impressive to me.”
“At times we can be always be a little bit better at decision making especially when we have a little bit of an advantage. We need to find the fine line between aggressive and taking risks we don’t need to take.”
“We met in March, April and at Christmas time. But because of the distance between us, it’s hard to meet up and practice.”
“I think that we have a really talented group and I think that a lot of people in Canada Basketball see that. But at the same time we need to build that team concept.”
NAME: Devoe Joseph
POSITION: Player, Canada
QUOTE: “Come hard, play hard, and the rest we’ll take care of it. Our objective is to qualify so we’re gonna take care of business.”
“A lot of us are friends; we hang out together, so it shows on the basketball court.”
