Fencing Coach Development Seminar
The San Antonio Sports Foundation and the Pan
American Fencing Academy (PAFA) are teaming-up to promote
coaches development.
As part of the United States Fencing
Coaches Association (USFCA) South Regional Coaching
Development program, the PAFA and is now offered through
the San Antonio Sports Foundation at the Dreams for
Youth Gym.
This seminar will focus on preparaing
the Moniteur candidate for the written and practical
exams. This seminar includes material from Brian Sharkey’s
A Coaches Guide to Sport Physiology, Vinnie Bradford’s
Taking Foil Groups to the Competitive Level and Developmental
games and exercises for young and developing fencers.

EXAMS
Coaches will be able to take the written and practical
Monituer exams or the written Prevost exam on Sunday
morning. For more information on the USFCA examination
process go to the USFCA Website http://www.usfca.org/usfca/
and click on “Accreditation”. There are
fees associated with each exam and you must be a member
of the USFCA.
FEES
USFCA written Monituer/Prevost Exam - $25 USFCA Moniteur
(one weapon) - $30
USFCA Moniteur (two weapons) - $45 USFCA Moniteur (three
weapons) - $60
USFCA Membership - $50 (for certified coaches) $35 (for
non-certified coaches)
