Nominations for the “SALUTE to COACHES” awards are sought in the following categories:

  1. Junior High Coaching Recognition – Honoring the male and female junior high coaches of the year.

  2. High School Female & Male Coaching Recognition - Honoring the male and female high school coaches of the year.

  3. Community Coaching Recognition – Honoring the male and female coaches of the year in any community-based youth sports initiative.

Selection

Selection of the 2006/2007 “SALUTE to COACHES” awards will begin with a nomination process to be completed by Friday, March 30, 2007.    Selection of all “SALUTE to COACHES” awards will be through a committee comprised of a member of the media, a local sports official, a sports celebrity and a San Antonio Sports Foundation staff and board member.  There could be an interview depending on the number of nominations submitted.  A list of award winners will be published after the nominees are notified.  The SALUTE recipients will be recognized on their “home turf” with direction from the organization or coach’s athletic coordinator.
